Before the season, Luca Pfeiffer was a largely blank sheet as a professional. In Youth at 1899 Hoffenheim he had not become happy, then played for sub-class clubs, then the Würzburg goalss shot into the 2nd league and then moved to the Danish first division FC Midtjylland.
Happy he was not happy in Denmark, though he even gave his Champions League debut there. So he decided to return to Germany in the summer and let himself be borrowed at the SV Darmstadt 98. Together with secondary man Phillip Tietz, he now forms one of the best storm duos of the 2nd league, which is responsible for eight of the previously 13 lilies goals.
The wallstormer and the wooler
We have complemented each other well, says the 25-year-old Pfeiffer (three goals, goals-notes section 2.5) over his one year younger secondary man (five goals, goals-notes cut 2, 92). We do what the other is not doing.
The 1.96 meter whisper is the type powerful wallstormer , but only at first glance looks a bit more trim. He fixes the balls well, with his body very effective and developing enormous dynamics. Tietz is rather a wüler and Wuseler.
Even off the place, the two attackers are well understood. There is no competition, you treat yourself to the achievements, says Pfeiffer. The club also surprised him very positively. If you come to a new club, that's not always so easy, he adds to his experiences in Denmark, but also in Hoffenheim.
At the beginning right in the quarantine
It was really good for Pfeiffer but also not going on in Darmstadt. Because there was no vaccination offer for him in Denmark before his change, he had to quarantine after the Corona cases in the Lilies at the beginning of the season as a contact person.
Although he was allowed to play again from the 2nd match day, but had to wear a mouthguard in the cabin and was allowed to travel only in his own car to the games. In the end, I was just glad that I could play football, he says, but admits: I'm glad that the times are over. I do not want to experience that anymore. In the meantime, he was completely poured out.
Premiere against Dresden
Like many of his teammates, Pfeiffer also emphasizes the positive consequences of the difficult start of season: If you have such a phase, you either get out more or breaks down completely, he says. We have more consolidated that.
After previously three games without defeat and 12: 3 goals, there was last with the bankruptcy with climber Rostock but a setback. Now on Sunday (13.30 clock) against Dynamo Dresden again against a newcomer. Then you want to build on the successful home matches against Ingolstadt (6: 1) and Hannover (4: 0). We go to the game of getting three points with the clear goal, makes Pfeiffer clearly. For him himself it will be a premiere. In his manageable profile lane, he has never played against Dresden so far.
